Request Funding

THIS IS GENERAL INFORMATION ONLY

FOR REQUEST FORMS PLEASE VISIT THE UPAC OFFICE IN 208 HUB

Program  – Events and activities that occur on or near campus that enhance the out-of-class experience and are open to all students at University Park. These events are anything from entertainment to education but may not include fundraising or limited access events.

    1. Are you part of a recognized student organization (RSO)?
      1. Yes, go to next step.
      2. No.
        1. Visit 103 HUB-Robeson to become a RSO.
        2. Verify that you are officially recognized by a University unit.
        3. You are a unit at PSU and may skip to step “c”.
    2. Have you started the program registration process? (Signed Yellow Form)
      1. Yes, go to next step.
      2. No
        1. Visit Events Management (125 HUB-Robeson) meet with a Program Advisor. (Must get program advisor signature)
    3. When will you be having your event?
      1. Don’t know. You must at least have a tentative event date to sign out a program funding request form.
      2. Select the event date (the first day of a multi-day event) from our deadlines calendar.
        1. If the deadline has not passed, go to the next step.
        2. If the deadline has passed:
          1. The event can be moved to a later date for which the deadline has not passed.
          2. If the date cannot be moved, then UPAC cannot consider funding for this program.
    4. Do you know where you event will take place?
      1. Don’t know. You must have a tentative location for the event on the day the event is planned.
      2. Yes, come to the UPAC office to sign out a Program Funding Request form.

 

Travel – Travel experience away from campus for students for education, performance, competition or service activities. These are trips for students to conferences, workshops, service activities, regional/national competitions, and performance activities in the USA or internationally. The trips cannot be for the purpose of entertainment, for an organizational retreat or for the purpose of presenting/conducting research.

    1. Are you part of a recognized student organization (RSO) or an organization recognized by a university unit?
      1. Yes, your organization may receive up to $5,000.00 per academic year and go to the next step.
      2. No, individual students may receive up to $500.00 per academic year and go to the next step.
    2. What day are you leaving for your trip?”
      1. Don’t know. You must at least have a tentative departure date to sign out a travel funding request form.
      2. Select the departure date (the first day of a multi-day trip) from our deadlines calendar.
        1. If the deadline has not passed, go to the next step.
        2. If the deadline has passed:
          1. Move the travel experience to a later date for which the deadline has not passed.
          2. Cannot move the date of the travel experience, then UPAC cannot consider funding for this program.
    3. Will you be travel outside of the United States of America (including the District of Columbia)?
      1. No, come to the UPAC office to sign out a Travel Funding Request Form – USA.
      2. Yes, go to the next step
    4. Is the location on the US State Department Watch List?
      1. No, come to the UPAC office to sign out a Travel Funding Request Form – International.
      2. Yes, UPAC cannot consider funding and your organization CANNOT travel to this location.

 

Equipment  – Items that are required for an organization to support the primary purpose of the organization. The items can be parts to build equipment or the equipment need to complete a task. These do not include resources already available from the university (PC, software, network connections, office furnishings), one-time-use items, or dangerous items (weapons, ammunition, blades).

    1. Are you part of a recognized student organization (RSO) or an organization recognized by a university unit?
      1. Yes, your organization may receive up to $5,000.00 per academic year and go to the next step.
      2. No, you may not request funds from UPAC for equipment.
    2. Do you have university approved storage for this equipment? (HUB locker, organization office)
      1. Yes, go to the next step.
      2. No, your organization must arrange for university approved storage and provide proof of this secure storage.
    3. Does this equipment support the primary mission of your organization?
      1. Yes, come to the UPAC office to sign out a Equipment Funding Request Form.
      2. No, UPAC only considers requests for equipment that is essential for the primary mission of the organization.

 

Media  – Costs associated with the creation, production and distribution of media content to students at University Park. These can be as simple as a newspaper or as complex as a weather forecast

    1. Are you part of a recognized student organization (RSO) or an organization recognized by a university unit?
      1. Yes, your organization may receive up to $10,000.00 per academic year and go to the next step.
      2. No, you may not request funds from UPAC for Media.
    2. Is the primary mission of your organization to generate media content? (Print magazine, broadcasting on TV or radio, print news)
      1. Yes, go to the UPAC office to sign out a Media Request Form.
      2. No, your organization must have the primary mission of generating and distributing media to request funds in this category.

 

Operational  – Costs associated with the operation of the organization. These are items like paper, pens, staples, folders, stamps/postage and other materials for you organization to operate. These funds cannot be used for supplementing any other type of request and may not be used for food,

    1. Are you part of a recognized student organization (RSO) recognized through the Office of Student Activities?
      1. Yes, your organization may receive up to $50.00 per academic year and come to the UPAC office to sign out an Operational Request Form.
      2. No, you may not request funds from UPAC for Operational Expenses.
